    An Upper Saucon man hospitalized after he was subdued by Easton police last month has died. An Upper Saucon man who was taken into custody in Easton two months ago for allegedly acting wildly and attacking a police officer died Thursday at an Allentown hospice center, authorities said.

    Catherine L. 'Cathy' McAuliffe, executive assistant

    Catherine L. "Cathy" McAuliffe, who had been an executive assistant to three St. Paul's School headmasters, died Jan. 2 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa., of a brain aneurysm. The daughter of Philip S. Ball Jr., an analyst at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, and Madeleine M. Ball, a research librarian, Catherine Lee Ball was born in Chicago and later moved with her family to Clarksville in Howard County.

    Brian Creazzo recharged with vehicular homicide

    The most serious charges have been refiled against a 41-year-old Allentown man for the May death of another man man who had been standing behind his parked car along Route 22. Brian Jeffrey Creazzo again has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, homicide by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving for the death of 28-year-old Shane Uttard of Bethlehem Township. The two-vehicle accident occurred at 3:20 p.m. May 13 in the eastbound lanes of Route 22 in South Whitehall Township, at mile marker 317.4. Creazzo told police he was returning home from work in Kutztown, on the ramp from Route 309 north to Route 22 east when the accident occurred.

    Doris Persico, born Doris May McGowan, passed away Monday evening at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa., with her family by her side, after a seven-year battle with cancer. She was 85 years old.

    Out The Back Door

    We learned just before press time that Bud Evans, one of the earliest members of the NHRA Drag Safari, passed away at the age of 86 in October. It was HRM Editor/NHRA Founder Wally Parks who originally sent members of his young sanctioning body across the country in a station wagon and a trailer.
