we need to replace him, someone cheap would be bertuzzi. He can score 20 goals and work the front of the net.

Bertuzzi comes with too much baggage, after the Steve Moore incident and after the Flyers signing Emery and Pronger (two players that come with baggage (Emery- his temper, Pronger- suspensions)), although I think both players will help the Flyers, it wouldn't be good to sign Bertuzzi. He's also had trouble with injuries and staying healthy. When he's on his game, he can dominate down low and around the net, but really, a signing like him would limit Giroux's time. Bertuzzi is also 34, so I wouldn't want him...

If there's a guy I'm hoping the Flyers take a look at, it's Brendan Shannahan. I know that's 40, but I feel that he'd be great to play on the third line as a LW. In the 2007-08 season (38), he was still putting up solid numbers, with 23 goals...and he was playing with an anemic offense like NY. Shanny would bring leadership and scoring to the Flyers and would only cost around 800k. They only have to give him a 1-year deal, too.

i like the idea of brining bertuzzi in because he plays similar style to knuble. right now we dont have a anyone working the front of the net and i think he wold make only 1.5 mill and, to repace lupul we could sign Afinaganov from buffalo.

Yea, Bertuzzi has the ability to dominate down low, but I think Hartnell can replace Knuble in front of the net cause Hartsy is a big guy and goes to the net well. Afinogenov would be a nice addition, but it all depends on whether the Flyers are able to trade Briere...which I still think is doubtful. I don't see him waiving his NMC. Montreal was in the running for a while but they took Gomez and LA just took Ryan Smyth. The only teams I could see Briere going to are Buffalo, cause they need a no.1 center (though i feel that would be awkward for Briere) or Columbus...who also needs a no.1 guy. I hate to say it, but I think we're just stuck with Briere's contract for the next 6 years...after his 5th season, the Flyers may buy him out if they can't find a team to take on his contract.

you need two people who have that skill set because if one gets hurt what r we gona do. You need that kind of presence on every line. you need to have room for the skilled guys, plus you need to have someone who can grab the puck in the corners and battle.
