We got to see him score 5 goals in one game against his new team! I really do wish him the best of luck! The wild and him needed a change! He will be missed, but dont hate him because he made a decision to leave! Love him for what he did for this team! Gabby is an excellent player when healthy. He'll look great in Ranger Blue.

Gaborik turned down the 10-year offer that the Wild, old regime or 'new era', wasn't going to improve upon. So, technically, Gabby did make a decision. I enjoyed having him on the Wild (when he played) and don't wish any ill towards him, but he did indeed make a decision to leave the Wild. He just made it about a year ago.

johns6797 wrote: <quoted text> The Wild did make an offer to Gaborik...early last season they offered him 10 years and $78.5 million. Gabby turned it down. That says to any GM, new or not, that Gabby simply didn't want to be here anymore. It's irritating that now Gaborik is leaving town with that parting shot. The Wild made him the best offer they could to get him to stay and he said no. What Gaborik should have done was simply said it was time for a new direction for both he and the Wild...that would have been the professional thing to do. I can't wait for the first time that groin goes out and the New York fans and media eat Gaborik alive. Exactly, "NEVER" made him an offer, not how I remember it...He absolutely was given an opportunity to sign with the wild last year.Gabby put his team behind the 8 ball too many times, if he played 20 more games last year the team would have had the opportunity to catch up at playoff time. Gabby "Czeched" out a long time ago. Always wanted a bigger stage than Mn. Let NY have him he'll sing "My Way" there too...

p.s. Even with Gaborik gone, Fletcher really did nothing to better this team. Now Villeaue? and Foster are gone.

Gaborik Shmaborik. He's gone. Don't care how, don't care why. Welcome to Marty Havlat and new D guys. But hey Fletch, quit shufflin' and deal. Heatley or Kessel or somebody to finish filling #10 spot is getting more imperative daily. All Fletch has done so far is change the names and save some dough. Fleet Farm tires on the same old truck. CONGRATS BURNSIE!! Hope she adds to the collection, if ya know what I mean :-)

"johns6797" "What Gaborik should have done was simply said it was time for a new direction for both he and the Wild...that would have been the professional thing to do." Gabby should have listened to Saku's fairwell newsconference to learn how. He won't get to rehab like the Wild let him. Tort's complained last year how the Rangers were heartless and sissies. We are far better off without him. Don't let the door hit you on the way out of the X.

Gabby had no desire to stay here, because like many other prima-momma sports stars Minnesota teams have had in the past, they felt strongly that the ownership was not going to put the right kind of supporting cast around them to make it all the way to the end of the post-season. His spirit & drive was coat-checked a couple years back. The bigger picture that bothers me is that if we were one of the teams making offers to Saku - how friggin cheap were the owners to get outbid by the EFFIN ducks?!?!?!?!!! What was is 3.25 or 3 1/2 mill...and we were obviously lower!! Seriously?! That has become my first w.t.f. for this owner/GM/coach combo. With a [i]matched[i/] offer I would guess he'd enjoy playing in Minnie with his brother.- loss in my book...
