A Change Would Do No Good

Full story: The Washington Post

CHARLOTTE Now that Jim Zorn's time appears short, now that the Holmgren Watch, the Shanahan Watch, the Gruden Watch, the Cowher Watch and the George Allen Seance have begun in earnest, an important question must be asked: Which coach, who is already filthy rich and has bona fide credentials, would want this miserable, no-upside job? What experienced, egocentric winner would want to take over the sorry lot that gave back a 15-point lead -- the largest lead of the Zorn era -- to a Carolina team waiting to crumble to 0-4 at home Sunday?

You are right, its not just the coach, its not just the QB. But its the coach's job to bring the team together into a formidable force to be reckoned with. I think Zorn was a good college coach, but this is the big league and he isnt cutting it.

It really isn't about players and coaches at this point. It is about the collective psyche of a once proud franchise that has, in all honesty, become bad for the league and for sports in general. Seriously, is there a more pathetic franchise in North American sports right now? The Redskins epitomize exactly how not to become a successful team. This obviously starts from the top and trickles down. Only when the architecture of this team changes will the overall morale and performance of the franchise change. Think back to what made this team successful in the '80's and early 90's and it becomes painfully obvious what is missing. And don't count on Vinnie Cerrato or Dan Snyder finding it. What a shame.
