The play of the third-year pro has been one of the few encouraging aspects of the disappointing 0-2 record the Bucs will take into Thursday night game at Atlanta.

"It is the first-ever LGBT tailgating event that the NFL has ever done," said Wade Davis, former NFL player and now Executive Director for the You Can Play Project, an organization dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation. "I would say, honestly, this is a revolutionary day, because most people don't think that sports and LGBT mix and I think that the Bucs are reframing that and debunking a lot of myths around sports and LGBT individuals."

The quick turnaround to play on Thursday Night Football is difficult on all teams but downright brutal for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons to start Week 3. Normally, a divisional clash would cause for some excitement on a Thursday night. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to 0-2 on the season with a heartbreaking 17-16 loss at the hands of the St. Louis Rams on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, but the much larger issue that the Bucs will be dealing with heading into Atlanta on Thursday night will be health. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have promoted linebacker Brandon Magee from the practice squad to the active roster and waived cornerback Rashaan Melvin. Magee originally joined the Buccaneers as a waiver claim from the Cleveland Browns during this year's training camp, spending the preseason with Tampa Bay, before being waived in the final round of cuts.
On Sunday afternoon, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they will sit starting running back Doug Martin to prepare him for their game against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, leaving the backfield workload to none other than Bobby Rainey against the St. Louis Rams . Rainey amassed 174 total yards, 144 rushing and 30 receiving, against a Rams defense that completely shut down Adrian Peterson in Week 1. Rainey averaged six yards per carry in the contest, but I'm sure he would have traded his stats for a win.
