I hope someone finally STOPS this boondoggle. This entire project is riddled with exposure to the citizens of Santa Clara.
Sen. Alquist had no business circumventing the City Charter ... except the 49ers and their lobbyists didn't like Santa Clara's rules and ran to the "for sale" State Senator. Sen. Alquist should be investigated along with several member of the city council including the Mayor. This entire deal stinks of corruption and kickbacks ... there has to be SOMEONE profiting from it ... other than the Yorks! It sure isn't the City ... they will be in debt up to their eyeballs FOREVER! Cost overruns ... dig deal! What about funding shortages? The niners will LOAN the money at 8 1/2% interest!! How sweet the deal is ... for them!! Certainly not for Santa Clara. People ... Please READ the term sheet. you will see just how badly you are about to be raped!! |
