Bennington College Early Childhood Center was close after celebrating its 75th anniversary. Parents, teachers and director were not given any notice leaving some parents trying to find last minute enrollments. This nationally renown early childhood center with published teachers and director were wll respected in the educational community. President Coleman closed the ECC based on a percentage of a college wide deficite. The total amount of the supposed deficite was $80,000. Closing the ECC has caused the surrounding communitys hopelessly searching for new centers for their children. This is the one connection to the community that President Elisabeth Coleman has slammed shut.
