Still have it? Or wish you did? I had an '85 Westy loved it until it needed some mechanicals addressed - got expensive quickly.

Of course there is always trouble finding the original owner when the profit margin gained by the insurance compony would be near $25,000 or so. By all rights the original owner should be givin the oppotunity to buy back his van from the insurance compony for same dollar amount that was given to him, plus or minus the deductable of course.

Ha! A tornado hit by my house right after we moved in. Everything was intact but my magic bus was a couple of acres away against the fence. The previous owner had the heads milled, oversized pistons, a big two barrel carbuerator, and a high lift cam. For what? What could I possibly race but other buses?

If they even had insurance....you didn't HAVE to have it back then, did you?

It was powered by a Porsche-designed engine after all. Maybe an Autoban run was planned. Mine maxed out at 71 mph and sounded like it coffee grinder filled with gravel.

Some years ago in the old railway goods yard in Melb. Australia they found a car that was reported lost by it's owner some years before.
It seems the railway workers unloaded it and then parked it to be picked up.The trouble was they forgot where they parked it.
They were having a cleanup one day a few years later and lo and behold "What's This" .

Probally not unless it was financed, Back then drinking and driving was only a minor offense and you only got arrested if argued with the cops and then they usally got you for public drunkenness, how those times were so much easier in some ways no body had to worry about locking their doors either.

Insurance was on the van from an uhpolstry shop and the van was stolen from their shop ,so I would imagine the Insurance company had to reimburse the shop for making it right with the owner of the van.

Punctuality isn't The Twins' strong suit as you are easily side- tracked, but it is important if you want to be taken seriously. You might even want to show up early if you really want to impress! The stars are about to hand you an opportunity that it would be foolish to ignore.
