Murder charges in 4 Tampa Bay area slayings

Tampa Bay area authorities have charged a man with four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his ex-girlfriend, her parents and her new boyfriend. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office charged 28-year-old Adam Matos on Monday.

Loudoun County drops gun charges against Charles Severance, who is charged with 3 Alexandria murders

The dropped charge clears the way for authorities to transfer 53-year-old Charles Severance from Loudoun County to Alexandria, where he's charged in three separate killings dating back to 2003. Severance's lawyers had argued the gun charge was a sham to hold him while Alexandria police tried to build their murder case.

A North Las Vegas high school student has been arrested in the shooting death of a 20-year-old woman. Police say the 16-year-old student at Mojave High School was arrested at school Thursday and booked into a juvenile detention facility.

A 31-year-old Hesperia man was sentenced to 50 years to life plus seven years in prison after he was convicted of the murder of a Mentone man, court records show. Alex Vincent Quezada was found guilty by a jury in July of murder and being a felon or addict in possession of a firearm in connection with the March shooting death of 34-year-old Ronnie Mena.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon said around 10 a.m. on Friday friends of Kimberly Thomas Jackson went to check on her at her home in Mayfield after she did not show up to work. Kentucky State Police say Terry Froman is the suspect in Graves County homicide and abduction and is in custody.

Matthew Apperson of Winter Springs, Florida called 911 Tuesday morning to report that he had been menaced on the road by Zimmerman, who had approached the side of his vehicle in a pickup truck to ask why he had pointed at him. Apperson, who had recognized Zimmerman, told police it was at that point his harasser asked, "Do you know who I am?" then reportedly threatened to kill him.

Kershaw County woman charged with murder in domestic shooting

South Carolina authorities say a woman faces a murder charge in the shooting death of a 33-year-old man. The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office says they're holding 61-year-old Gregg Pickrell of Rembert after she was charged and arrested on a murder warrant late Friday.

Ryan Eddy Watenpaugh denies cooking the dog but admits leaving its paws on the woman's porch in a small bag.

An Ohio man pleaded guilty Friday to assault with a dangerous weapon in a Veterans Affairs hospital shooting that wounded an employee. Former Veterans Affairs employee Neil Moore pleaded guilty as part of a deal in which federal prosecutors agreed to drop a second charge.

Pa. State Police: 1 trooper dead in barracks shooting

A late-night shooting at a state police barracks in northeastern Pennsylvania left one trooper dead and another injured, and authorities were searching Saturday for a suspect, state police said. The shooting occurred at about 11 p.m. Friday at the barracks in Blooming Grove, Pike County, a township of about 4,000 people about 35 miles east of Scranton.

$2M bail for suspect in gas station killing

A man accused of killing his former boyfriend and business partner at a suburban Minneapolis gas station abandoned a suitcase that contained ammunition consistent with the bullets used in the slaying, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Friday. Woman charged over house fire death

A 29-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a man died in a house fire, police said. Patricia Louise Hindle, of Crombey Street, Swindon, will appear before magistrates in the town today accused of killing 62-year-old Michael Redpath.
