Brinsford isn't the only haunted prison in the Midlands
Brinsford isn't the only haunted prison in the Midlands. FROM medieval dungeons to modern penitentiaries, prisons are truly frightening places - and they remain frightening long after the last inmate has finished his porridge.
One former prison that sees a lot of paranormal activity is the former Derby Gaol, now owned by ghost expert and historian Richard Felix.
It was built in the 1750s on a traditional and very busy execution site. As a result, death and suffering were associated with the building right from the start.
Valley Ghost Hunters to host paranormal workshop

Vampires may be getting all the glory these days, but when it comes to day-in, day-out spooky family entertainment, it's hard to beat ghosts.
Several of the cable networks have built their lineups around ghost/paranormal reality shows. These series follow investigators going to residential homes, historical locations, abandoned hospitals, prisons and even aircraft carriers that are supposedly haunted. They claim to use scientific methods and equipment, such as digital tape recorders to capture EVPs (electronic voice phenomena), which are believed to capture the voices of spirits.

Paranormal phenomena in the Bridgewater Triangle
Between the town lines of Abingdon, Freetown, and Rehoboth lies New England’s own version of the Bermuda Triangle. The Triangle is full of odd occurrences; people have disappeared, strange lights are seen and so are the ghosts of Native Americans who used to live there.
The Bridgewater Triangle is two hundred square miles across and right smack in the middle is the largest swamp in all of New England. Hockomock Swamp is filled with quicksand, mysterious creatures and other dangers. Hockomock means “place of spirits” in the local Native American language.

Eerie outpost unnerves US Marines with strange lights and whispers in the night...
The Marines found the bone as they scraped a shallow trench. Long, dry and unmistakably once part of a human leg, it was followed by others.
“The local people say this is a cursed place,” he said. “You will definitely see weird-ass lights up here at night.”
Others in the outgoing unit had reported odd sounds. “It is weird what you hear and don’t hear around here,” he added.
Each successive detachment that guards the Rock appears to add its own layer to the legend, which has spread through the Marine units pushing into southern Helmand.
