Hey is it true there is a Latrobe officer currently suspended? What's going on? Is it because of liens, or durg dealers pulled from his apartments or what?

Oh my. First- its spelled "supended", but I am sure you assumed thats what it was by your guess of what it meant. So to help prevent you from looking dumb in the future, here is the definition: 1. To bar for a period from a privilege, office, or position, usually as a punishment Now on to your question...A person is suspended for such things as, insubordination, inadequate performance of the job, abuse of resources or position etc. Could be a number of things. Although he may not have been suspended for punishment, it may be an administrative suspension for an investigation. |

Wonder what he got suspended for! Was it for the felons that he rents to, or was it for all of the money the city sued him for (look at westmoreland county courthouse website for verification) or the garbage piled up at his house or could it be something else?

The Latrobe Police Department recently suspended Sgt. Jeff Regula, police Chief Charles Huska said this week.
Huska did not provide details about the reason for the suspension, when it began or how long it will last. "It's a city personnel matter. For that reason, I have no further comment on the matter," the chief said Wednesday. Regula has been a member of the city's 13-member police department since 1988. |

So what is the real reason for the suspension? Does anyone have the facts?
Surely it's not a cover up by Huska that the town shouldn't have knowledge of what's going down in our town. |

Is this the way council will balance the budget?? One policeman gone or is there reason to believe we have a corrupt police department? Go figure. What are other's thoughts??

I believe it said "officer" no reason to make a generalization that Latrobe has a corrupt dept.

Sounds to me like your one of the criminals that they have to deal with on a daily basis! That being said, I don't condone the actions of this police sergeant. Having lived in this town much of my life I think he has gotten away with a lot in the past years and that the chief and city manager have covered up for him. How else would be be able to keep his job? When is the city going to go after these two for letting him continually do these things? I would say that whatever this guy did to get suspended they are as much at fault as he is. They stood by over the years and did nothing to curb his behavior. I have also had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know some of the guys in the department. I trust them fully and I think they are very competent. However, I don't trust that chief as far as I can throw him and I don't think that he does his job. |

I have also grown up in this town and i really feel that these men should not be Latrobe cops as they have grown up here too. That makes for a bad situation. They should not be hired in the town they grew up. There should be a policy change in the hiring of our police force. Of course Huska has know Regula when he was in high school. Of course there's has been obvious cover up going on all these years.
