It's hypocritical, Daniel. It seems to me he could have it his way if Congress would agree to also give up its subsidized government health care. Let them buy their health care from an insurance company like the rest of us have to.

I want to see it passed. then I want to see an executive order that all of congress is now under it. and it will be their insurance while in office. the ex military use the VA as they should and if they wish to pay out of pocket for better they can.

But no more free ride.

I say take it away from everyone! It's just welfare for the Drs! Don't believe it? When med. Ins. first appeared in the 1930s (IIRC) it was given tax exempt status and Drs we're well paid, just not as well paid as they are today. People routinely paid for major operations themselves.(My spinal fusion operation costs two thousand dollars in 1959)It was considered expensive, but not prohibitive. My daughter's operation cost 20k
in 1988, which was prohibitive. The reason we're all scramblingb to figure out how to pay this extortion is because Drs upped the prices so much.
If Drs worked for plumbers wages, it wouldn't be an issue. Drs now have a cash cow they can milk (and bleed) at their leisure, The Insurance companies! The insurance companies have made the huge gains in Dr's salaries possible. No longer are Drs paid in bushel of potatoes as they once were. Nowe they just have their secretaries submit a claim (Which, mostly likely is padded somewhat) And Viola! The claim is paid in real dollar$! It's been the insurance industry that made it all possible. Get rid of medical Insurance and Drs will go back to living like the rest of us.
Regards, Terry
