As long as there are people who buy into whatever their church teaches them to believe, and then judge others accordingly, such bigotry will never go away. You cannot use reason or logic to have productive or useful discussion with people whose arguments are entirely faith based. Religion is used to justify acts of intolerance and violence everywhere. From the select fundamental Christians who preach hatred here in the US to those select few Muslim fanatics who kill themselves and others in the name of god. Religious righteousness cannot be reasoned with.
That said, get your facts straight. Parents of public school children in CA have the right to remove their child from any part of the curricula they don't want their child to participate in. This was a lie of an argument that Prop 8 supporters pumped into ads, misleading thousands of fearful ignorant people who didn't know any better. The above post was written by one of them.

while I may not be able to get rid of church bigotry, I certainly can and WILL teach my kids, that there is no such thing as a talking snake, that the world is not flat, nor is it only 6,000 years old.
Murder is bad, hate is bad, divorce is bad.
and then they can decide if they want to be fooled by religion.

Hey HRC: Let's just sit back and wait for something wonderful to happen. No need to march in Washington THIS year: There's always next year or the year after that. No need to put Prop 8 on the ballot in 2010. There's always 2012 or 2014 or NEVER!

You may be comfortable laying back in your offices half-way between Dupont Circle and the Capitol. But out here in the hustings, we're ready to do something!

BTW: I hope HRC DOESEN'T get involved in this march. They took over the last march and turned it into a debacle--including loosing a garbage bagful (LITERALLY!) of cash.

We don't need them to run a successful march.

My airfare and hotel are already purchased. Me and my rainbow flag are gonna paint the town and march... w00t!

I believe Barney opens his mouth and says the wrong things at the wrong time....Other words..he does NOT help our cause. Kinda reminds me of Barney Fife of Mayberry.... but this one is not funny!

All forms of struggle are needed right now weather it is voting or marching lobbying to demand full rights for gay people in this world.Mr Frank is wrong he should do more to help his own kind by opening doors to gay men in government.
