Former St. John's guard JaKarr Sampson signs with Sixers

JaKarr Sampson works out for 13 different teams before the NBA draft, but it's possible the 6-9 forward goes undrafted Thursday night at Barclays Center. Former St. John's star JaKarr Sampson has signed a partially-guaranteed three-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, Red Storm coach Steve Lavin confirmed in a dispatch on Twitter late Sunday night.

An appearance in the NIT Season Tip-Off, games in the boroughs of Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn, a showdown against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome and a tilt with Duke at "The World's Most Famous Arena" highlight the 2014-15 St. John's men's basketball schedule, which was unveiled today in conjunction with the release of the BIG EAST schedule of games.
