The Samford University basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 61-60 Southern Conference loss against the UNCG Spartans on Sunday as sophomore guard David Williams knocked down a leaner with 2.8 seconds remaining to snap the Bulldogs' two-game winning streak.

Samford came back from a 13 point deficit at half-time to beat Eastern Kentucky on the road, 67-61. J. Robert Merritt led the team in scoring.
