Scott: I can help the Browns

The Continental Airlines flight bringing Austin Scott back to Allentown touched down at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday.

Scott was still soaring an hour later.

The former Parkland High School football star came back from a tryout at the Cleveland Browns' rookie minicamp with a 1-year contract.

Scott, a running back who played sparingly at Penn State University because of injuries and personal issues, showed enough of his talent, speed and skill at the tryout to earn his first NFL contract.

NFL contracts aren't guaranteed, which means that Scott must make the 53-man roster or the team's practice squad in order to have the contract honored. Read more

say what you will PSU fans. the problem was that he went to PSU instead of Texas. i guess none of you have watched all of your running backs fumble over the years. its called BAD COACHING!!!!! did he fumble is HS...NO!!!! Its funny how everyone loved him during the Orange Bowl when he came in there for a loser and got over 100 yards and 2 TD's. No one said a word. stop hating and go play with your xbox.

Coaching has nothing to do with whether a running back holds the ball or fumbles it. Scott is mediocre at best. He was good in highschool, but he lost it in college. He won't make the starting or practice sqaud at Cleveland. Bye bye NFL, Bye bye Austin Scott.

Are you a retard? Why dont you pay attention. Does the name Tiki Barber ring a bell? I mean you are in Pa correct? Coaching made him a great RB bacause they showed him how to hold the ball and switch hands. COACHING!!!! Not some tv show, movie, or video game. IT WAS COACHING. Stop being a loser and put down the video game sticks for a bit. If your not going to watch real football then you need not post. Thank you for wasting out time.

Joe you are wrong...sorry...Coaching has everything to do with it. Look at Tiki Barber. He was well known as a fumbler until his 'Coaches' taught him how to carry the ball. Austin was instructed to carry the ball in a certain hand and was even instructed not to switch hands which inevitably will place the ball in front of a defender instead of a convienient stiff arm. Get in the game son and pay attention and go to clevelandbrowns dot com to order your season tickets in the haterz zone.

It will not surprise me if his lack of self-control lands him in hot water again. This guy was pampered and bathed in special priveledge for a long time. How did he come to play for Parkland? Was he really a resident? How did that happen? I'd love to know the history there.

What happened here was that Karoly made the headlines again, he loves that! This fledgling agent got his name in the news, good for business! Once again, sports stories make the front page while stories about good kids are relegated to the inside pages of the local section.

I'm amazed that so many people are against the greatest running back to ever play high school footbal in the state of Pennsylvania. It seems as if there is some envy towards Austin that he has not only overcome all of the obstacles placed in front of him, but also has been given a shot to play football in the NFL. Let me say that one more time... THE NFL. Austin has worked his A** off to get to where he is at and trust me there is no luck when your at this level. When you have talent yo will be given a shot, and that is what he has been given a shot. Now lets stop hating on Austin just because no 1 on this forum has ever had half the talent austin does or ever have children with his talent. All of you haters on this forum are going to be the first ones in line running to Austin saying, "Mr. Scott can I have your autograph please?" Get off of his Jock HATERSSSSSSS!!!! hahahahahhahahaa

Joe, I disagree entirely about your statement that coaching has nothing to do with whether a RB fumbles or not. Case in point is Tiki Barber. Before Tom Coughlin became head coach of the Giants, Barber was a fumble waiting to happen. After Coughlin took over, he showed Tiki a new way to carry the ball, and the rest is history. No more fumbles. Teaching a kid how to hold the football correctly while running and make that hold an automatic reaction during a game, is one of the reasons why a coach is on the practice field. I coached the D-Line at Wilson HS in West Lawn for 18 years, and I know what the RB backs coach taught, and how not to fumble was what he did, everyday, in our 15 mins. "football fundamentals" period. Hope this was helpful to you. Go State.
