The Champs Sports Bowl is a joke game. The upper deck of the Citrus Bowl stadium isn't even used. There might be 15,000 -20,000 at the game. Plenty of cheap seats available.

Beating the Illini is the crucial game for bowl game placement. Losing to Iowa won't hurt (though an upset would be amazing). The fans would definately be up for a trip to Orlando in the sunshine state right after Chritmas for a break from the weather.

This week and as always, coach Carroll (USC) indicate that it is a practice and a habit NOT to ever mention bowl games and BCS rankings... their focus is on preparation and the next game. He is regarded as the premier college coach of the decade. To be constantly discussing 6 wins to get to a bowl and which bowl, etc. is futile and very distracting. This game is about tactics and focusing on the strategic future (at the coach and player level). Thus the little (yet critical) piece of info that breeds college football success - - not to mention real good recruiting and talent ;^)

Minnesota football is a sports joke! Don't expect another win out of them this year. The new stadium has given them no advantage this year, probably never will. Just more good money thrown after a corrupt program.
