Former UConn basketball star Rebecca Lobo regaled graduating seniors and their parents with funny stories about meeting presidents and her 'ridiculous' childhood dream to play professional basketball as she urged students to dream big at the University of Connecticut's commencement ceremonies Sunday.
Lobo spoke at one of 12 graduation ceremonies at UConn held during the weekend, addressing the largest group, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. An unexpectedly high number of graduating seniors decided to attend the ceremony, prompting staff to scramble at the last minute to find extra seats in Gampel Pavilion. Read more

Danielle Hood couldn't feel her body after the first few days of practice with the Atlanta Dream.
'The first couple days were kind of fast-paced,' she said. 'I kind of got over that hump. It's been an interesting transition. I'm hanging in there.'
Hood, Hartford's No.2 all-time scorer and its first player chosen in the WNBA draft, was a third-round pick of the expansion Dream. Saturday, the Dream drew 7,932 to Phillips Arena for their first exhibition game, an 86-80 loss to Los Angeles. Hood had one rebound and a steal and did not score in six minutes. Read more
