Arkansas' Herring chastises players for comments
“Kids make mistakes, kids overreact. I do know that both programs, both teams, have good people and are first-class.
'Once you get to game time, I don't think it has any influence at all on the game itself.”
IRVING, Texas | Reggie Herring laid it on thick.
From insisting that he's chastised the Arkansas players whose comments allowed Missouri to play the 'No Respect' card, to crediting MU coach Gary Pinkel with being the man who finally awoke the sleeping giant.
Herring, the Razorbacks' interim head coach, touched all the bases Sunday in a final coaching news conference before Missouri and Arkansas meet Tuesday in the Cotton Bowl.
'After the comments that had been made in the paper from our guys,' Herring said, 'I told Gary personally, 'They got them a tongue-lashing. They got put in the corner with the dunce hat on. We spanked them a little bit, verbally.' ' Read more

Crushing the national title hopes of the No. 1 team in the nation is one way to make a case for the Heisman Trophy.

Peyton Hillis also scored three TDs, the last in the third overtime. Felix Jones ran for the critical 2-point conversion to make it 50-42.
LSU responded when Matt Flynn found Brandon LaFell for a 9-yard TD, but Matterral Richardson intercepted the 2-point conversion attempt, and Arkansas' bench emptied onto the field in triumph. Read more
