Man gets 2 years for stabbing former NIU linebacker
SYCAMORE – The man accused of stabbing former Northern Illinois University linebacker Devon Butler has pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with use of a deadly weapon and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Bishop, a 6-1, 308-pound junior defensive tackle, had been recruited by former NIU linebackers coach Tom Matukewicz, now the defensive coordinator at Toledo, out of high school in Sunrise, Fla.
Orozco sentenced in Butler shooting
The second of two men charged in April 2011 with shooting former Northern Illinois University football player Devon Butler was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison Wednesday.

"Some things happened in the offseason, some guys went down and it was a 'Next guy in mentality,'" said the Northern Illinois linebacker.
