Providence College men's basketball Head Coach Ed Cooley announced the 2012-13 team awards on Sunday, April 14.

When the move was made by Providence College to hire Providence native Ed Cooley as its head basketball coach two years ago, many were hopeful that the native son would return the Friar program to respectability.

Southern Miss senior Dwayne Davis has received a bid to play in the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational, which is set for April 10-13 at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Va.

Friar fans have a rightful anticipation toward next season. With everything that is in place, and considering everyone who should return, the ingredients are there for a special year.

Throughout the entire 2012-13 season, depth issues plagued Providence from time to time, only to have coach Ed Cooley and his staff figure out ways to overcome those deficiencies...whether it was shortening the bench, getting unexpected performances from seldom-used players, or just plain luck.
