Lee scores 29 as WKU advances to Sweet 16
Western Kentucky's Courtney Lee could hardly miss from the field in the first half, scoring 19 points.
Lee didn't miss at the free-throw line in the final 33 seconds, making six straight and helping the Hilltoppers defeat San Diego 72-63 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.
Western will oppose top-seeded UCLA in the West Region semifinals Thursday in Phoenix.
The Hilltoppers built a 15-point lead early in the second half, but the Toreros came all the way back to take a 55-54 lead on a three-pointer by Brandon Johnson with 61/2 minutes left. Read more

- By the time Ty Rogers turned on his cellphone Friday, he had 172 new text messages. They were still pouring in when he returned to the St. Pete Times Forum for practice Saturday.
'I don't know how many it ended up being,' he said.

Rogers hit the shot of his life Friday, a 25-foot three-pointer as overtime expired to give 12th-seeded Western Kentucky a 101-99 victory over No.5 Drake in the first round of the NCAA Tournament .
