If you want an idea of why there will be no shortage of capable college basketball coaches angling for a chance to coach the UCLA Bruins, picture the scene on the commons outside Pauley Pavilion on a late January day.

The hype is tremendous in Westwood right now. In addition to UCLA's football team snapping a long streak of mediocrity, the Bruins acquired one of the best recruiting classes in college basketball and are off to smoldering start in the 2012-13 season.

A long off-season of hype finally comes to an end as the No. 13 UCLA Bruins finally take to the hardwood at the new Pauley Pavilion in a regular-season opener against Indiana State.

Last season was a decent one for the UCLA Bruins. They finished with an overall record of 19-14 and a Pac-12 Conference record of 11-7. Their biggest non-conference losses from last year came against 14th-ranked Kansas, 15th-ranked Michigan, and Texas.
