Two things you can say about an exhibition college basketball game: It doesn't count on a team's record and the host team usually is more prominent and usually wins barring some freak occurrence.

The Hawkeyes get two chances at that this week. They play Illinois-Springfield, an NCAA Division II team coached by former Iowa player Kevin Gamble, in a closed scrimmage today at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
