Oh yeah, 6-19 shooting in 48 minutes on the court speaks volumes about his game. Don't let the screen door hit you on your way out...IF we can find a decent trade. HAH!!!
|

Exactly. Let's see, Chris Mullin works out a 3 year $39 million deal to keep Baron (our franchise player) in town. Robert Rowell (who knows nothing about basketball) says no, essentially fires Mullin, and then Rowell proceeds to give Jackson a (completely unnecessary) 3 year $30 million extension, and basically makes Jackson the face of the franchise. "Mission Accomplished." Honest to god you can't make this stuff up. Can't Rowell trade himself with Jackson? |

Nah, if we wont sell to Larry Ellison, he won't sell to SJax. Our only hope is if the IRS finds some really nasty stuff in Rowell's closet and he HAS to sell. Keep hope alive!

It's not that simple. Rowell gave him a 3 year $28 million extension that kicks in AFTER this season. The tough part is finding another team to pick up his contract AND trade us someone we could use. With SJax crying about his fine and suspension, I don't see him giving up much in the way of a buyout.

He probably can't understand why teams aren't lining up to beg the Warriors to trade such a high caliber, fan endearing, highly skilled role model such as himself.

He WAS a role model and my favorite Warrior for quite a while (as you well know). This whole situation is particularly disappointing to me. I'm going to tonight's pre-season game with the Hornets, and a season ticketholder event tomorrow night (wine & food fest). It should be an interesting couple of days...

This is yet another classic example of why fans should not get too invested in the players, or the hype about these guys being "class acts" or any of that other cliche-ridden tripe.
The Warriors were a place for Jackson to rehabilitate his image, and he did. The fans glommed onto him, he plays hard (if a little out of control) and Rowell mistakenly acted like a fan and rashly gave Jackson an extension while he (Rowell) showed Mullin the door. |

Tiffany: SJax can't carry us to the playoffs. He tried to last season and ran himself into the ground. After last night's butt-kicking of the Gasol-less Hornets, I have some hope. SJax, Beans and Randolf didn't even suit up, and Ellis/Curry/Morrow were amazing together. What would make me happy would be to go to tonight's season ticketholder event and find a Stephen Jackson dunking booth. He really needs to make some kind of public apology if he's going to stick around and be effective in any kind of team capacity. He probably won't though. Monta never did for the Moped incedent/lie.
Martina2: I know. You're right. But that's the nature of being a fan. Otherwise, what's the point of buying season tickets? |
|||
I say buy the tickets to enjoy the game, the team, and don't get sucked into believing the hype that these are classy guys (some are, some are not.) I really like college and pro basketball, but I don't have sports heroes - that stuff is for ESPN and for kids aged 5 to 16 or so. |

You forget, guys never grow up!
Not exactly true. If I hadn't grown up in other areas, I'd have never got past the first date with my wife! There are some areas where all men will be boys. |
