The Atlanta Hawks released an open letter of apology to fans and city of Atlanta on Saturday, saying the organization "did not do the right thing" to correct racially inflammatory words and innuendos "over a period of years." The apology, signed by CEO Steve Koonin , was released one day after the team announced that general manager Danny Ferry was taking an indefinite leave of absence following his racially charged comments about Luol Deng.

Depth and heart won out for the Greenfield football team on a cold and soggy night in Shorewood, as the Hustlin' Hawks football team overcame a 12-0 deficit on the strength of big defensive stops and an electrifying 95-yard fourth quarter TD run by Ezekial Banks to pull out a 20-12 victory over the host Greyhounds. "We saw some of this two weeks ago when we fell behind 14-0 to Pius ," said Greenfield coach Joe Koch.
