One February Super Bowl downa one to go! I'm talking about that NASCAR Super Bowl called Daytona 500.

What I miss most when I watch driver interviews are real men. When I began watching NASCAR in 1990 the field was still chock full of characters that could only be referred to as "real men." I'm not trying to malign the drivers of today; they are, as the twenty-first century defines, real men, but not in the way the drivers of yesteryear were.

Even though Darrell Waltrip did not approve of a two-car team, he and teammate Neil Bonnett combined to produce a good 1984 season for Junior Johnson & Associates.

It's been years now since NASCAR began the windup for its coming season with its annual Media Tour of shops and such in the Charlotte area.
