Grand jury to weigh case against Stewart in fatal crash

A fatal dirt-track accident involving three-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart in upstate New York last month will be heard by a grand jury, authorities said on Tuesday. "Upon my review of all of the information contained in the entire investigation, I have made the determination that it would be appropriate to submit the evidence to a grand jury, for their determination as to what action should be taken in this matter," said Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo.

A grand jury will decide whether or not NASCAR star Tony Stewart will face charges in a driver's death. Stewart's car struck and killed 20-year-old Kevin Ward Jr. on the dirt track at Canandaigua Motorsports Park on Aug. 9. Ward had climbed out of his car and walked onto the track to confront Stewart after he spun out while racing alongside the three-time NASCAR champion.

Anderson motorcycle crash kills teen

The accident happened around 4 p.m. Saturday when traffic was stopped on I-69 near mile marker 226 at Scatterfield Road due to construction. Officials say when Nicholson came upon the stopped traffic he laid down his motorcycle, sliding under a 2004 Chevy Tahoe.

Delaware County deputy arrested after driving drunk, causing accident

A veteran Delaware County sheriff's deputy was drunk when he caused an accident Saturday that injured two other people plus himself, according to authorities. Todd Daily, a corporal with the sheriff's department, was under guard Saturday night at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
