Noel Gallagher: 'Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' was free marketing'

It's strange that a lot of people ended up buying the physical album after the free download was made available. I don't think it was one of their best efforts. They did get a lot of press for the move, but I don't think they needed it, or really were motivated by that. Maybe Gallagher is a bit jealous, since Oasis hasn't really been very relevant beyond the 90's, unlike Radiohead.

The fact that people care what Noel G says, the fact that they still go number one with almost every single and every record, the fact that they sell out massive gigs, the fact that tabloids follow them around, the fact that they are a huge influence to bands like coldplay, the killers, the strokes (and on and on) makes Oasis very relevent despite what pitchfork says (who repeats the mantra that they are irrelevent and btw went back and RETROACTIVELY EDITED their Be Here Now review from a thumbs up to a thumbs down. How self concious do you have to be to do that LOL).
BTW: I loved In Rainbows and thought its genius ... best record since the Bends (which is my favorite).
