Halloween is the perfect time to enjoy classic horror films. These movies make great ambience enhancers during your annual costume party, but they're also good choices for an October evening's main entertainment.

The following is an expanded version of last year's Halloween movie post. If you are looking for something seasonal to rent or order from Netflicks, I am your man.

Universal Studios enjoyed so much success with its various monsters that the temptation to make endless sequels and combinations of characters proved too tempting, and movies like Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man appeared in large numbers throughout the 1930s and 1940s.

Hollywood and Halloween will descend upon Ligonier Saturday when the retro monster movie "House of the Wolf Man" makes its Midwest premiere at the Ligonier Theatre.
