Oscar-winners take on Broadway
“One of Clifford Odets's last plays, 'The Country Girl”
Oscar-winning actors Morgan Freeman and Frances McDormand will star in 'The Country Girl' on New York's Broadway early next year with the play directed by Academy Award-winning Mike Nichols.
Freeman, who won a best supporting actor Oscar in 2005 for his role in 'Million Dollar Baby,' and McDormand, who won a best actress Academy Award in 1997 for her role in 'Fargo,' both last appeared on Broadway in 1988.
The production said in a statement on Tuesday that the play was due to open in April. Read more
