'Young Frankenstein' turns 40, with some hoopla

Director Mel Brooks spent a lot of money on white handkerchiefs while making his 1974 tour de farce "Young Frankenstein." "I gave everybody in the crew a white handkerchief," the 88-year-old comedy legend says in a phone interview.

THE children of Mike and Nikki Sly, stalwarts of the Swindon drama scene, are proving to be chips off the old block as they tread the boards alongside their parents. Max and Annie Sly are taking part in the autumn production of Oh! What A Lovely War by the Phoenix Players at Swindon's Arts Centre , in Devizes Road, Old Town , from Wednesday, September 24 to Saturday, September 27. The players' new season starts with their own tribute to the centenary that marks the start of the First World War.

In a new interview with The Daily Beast , John Travolta, 60, opens up about rumors that he's gay -- specifically a lawsuit from a man who alleged he was Travolta's former pilot, and that the two were engaged in a relationship that was more than professional. According to The Hollywood Reporter , Douglas Gotterba -- who worked for John Travolta's aircraft company Alto in the '80s -- will get the opportunity to argue in a lawsuit that he holds no confidentiality duties to the Grease actor, and is therefore free to write a book he's allegedly been planning.
