After Rob Zombie 's cluttered and distracted 2003 horror debut, House of 1000 Corpses, failed to make an impression on critics and audiences, the pressure was on the horror-loving Renaissance man to really step his game up as a filmmaker.

The documentary "Room 237," also opening today, looks at a motley assortment of individuals who worship "The Shining." In a few years, Rob Zombie might qualify for associate membership.
