'Harvey' remake next for Spielberg

Steven Spielberg confirmed today that his next directing assignment will be a remake of "Harvey." The project will be a co-production between Twentieth Century Fox and DreamWorks Studios, and Spielberg will direct from a screenplay by novelist Jonathan Tropper.

Whimsy is one of the least viable concepts in theater. Asking adults to pay high ticket prices to indulge themselves in the possibilities of a tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus borders on the impossible.
