Two classic westerns show how an outwardly simple genre holds infinite variety
Jubal and 3:10 to Yuma , two Glenn Ford westerns just released on Blu-ray by the Criterion Collection, didn't kick up much dust when they were released, mostly because westerns weren't much to get excited about then.

Delmer Daves' 3:10 to Yuma isn't considered a tentpole classic western, but on a high-def release like this one, it's easy to reassess the movie's value as a unique genre achievement.
