Honda delays start of two wheeler production at Gujarat plant

Production from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India fourth plant in Gujarat is set to commence from early 2016 and not from end of 2015 as originally planned. This delay is on account of elections held earlier this year which has delayed work on the plant and pushed commencement of production operations a good five months ahead.

Suzuki to increase market share in motorcycles segment to 5%

From the present level of its market share of around 1 per cent for mobikes, Japanese firm Suzuki Motorcycle India is aiming to increase it to 5 per cent over the next two years, a company official said today. "We are aiming to increase the market share in the motorcycle segment from one to five per cent in the next 24 months.

Indiaa s car sales up 15% in August, industry sees slow turnaround

New Delhi, Sept 10 : Car sales in India grew for the fourth successive month, posting an increase of 15.16 per cent in August, prompting industry body SIAM to see a slow turnaround after two years of slump. According to the data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, domestic car sales in August added up to 1,53,758 units as compared with 1,33,513 units in the same month of 2013.

Next week, the Village will be restriping a portion of the west commuter lot to create five parking spaces for use by motorcycles or scooters. These spaces will be smaller than other parking stalls, will be signed for motorcycle use only, and will cost the normal daily rate of $1.00.
