Joel Selwood, dressed as Jake King thanks ... Jake King.

It's not Mad Monday at Geelong, it's wacky Wednesday and even though it has arrived earlier than they had hoped, the Cats never disappoint. Last Friday night's shock straight-sets finals exit is far from forgotten, but at least for one day, the Cats can put the "what-ifs" from the semi-final loss to North Melbourne to the back of their minds and ponder more important questions like, who are those two players dressed up as crash-test dummies? And, the old favourite, did coach Chris Scott forget to dress up, or is he meant to be the North Melbourne coach? It is Joel Selwood's task as captain to lead from the front, and it a role he takes very seriously, and apparently not just on the field.

Buddy Holly and Waylon Jennings-owned 1958 Ariel Cyclone heads to auction

Anyone who has followed music in the last 60 years knows the story of Buddy Holly's demise in February, 1959, along with the fact that country singer Waylon Jennings had given up his seat on that fated plane, ultimately saving his life and leading to the death of J.P "Big Bopper" Richardson. Perhaps riding on the wave of interest in celebrity-owned motorcycles, as evidenced in the recent $100,000 selling price of a Steve McQueen-owned Harley-Davidson in Monterey, the estate of Waylon Jennings has scheduled a Jennings memorabilia auction that includes a 1958 Ariel Cyclone purchased by Buddy Holly in the months before his death.
