BMW has announced updates to its R-Series motorcycles including a new engine inherited from the HP2 Sport.

Having ridden up to Prudhoe Bay they have journeyed south through Canada, the USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

BMW are claiming there are a multitude of changes to the new R1200GS but we reckon its going to take a pretty keen eye to spot all of the changes.

For the 2010 model year, BMW has placed a new boxer engine into its R 1200 RT, R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure.

With the introduction of the new BMW R 1200 GS, BMW Motorrad is writing yet another chapter in the story of its highly successful GS models which, for almost three decades, have been the epitome of the large-capacity grand touring enduro.
