Pelicans beat Kinston in opener

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans got a two-run home run from catcher Vinny DiFazio in the second inning and the Pelicans pitching staff made it hold up in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Kinston Indians in Game 1 of the Carolina League Southern Division playoff series at BB&T Coastal Field.
