Columbus starting pitcher Joe Martinez shook off a tough start to pitch seven strong innings Tuesday to lead the Clippers to an 8-3 victory over Omaha in the Triple-A championship game.

Russ Canzler went 0-for-4 on Friday night as the Durham Bulls were swept by Columbus in their best-of-five International League playoff series 5-2. Columbus, the defending Triple-A National champions, never trailed in the series after recording a league-best 88-56 mark in the regular season.

Lehigh Valley did not clinch the wild card until the final day of the season on Monday.

Catcher Wyatt Toregas and left fielder Ryan Ludwick each drove in two runs while reliever Steven Jackson fired two solid innings of relief and had a key RBI single as well to lead the Indianapolis Indians to a 5-3 win over the Louisville Bats on Sunday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

In the 2011 regular season home finale, Tribe MVP Matt Hague and Major Leaguer Ryan Ludwick combined to go 5-for-7 with four runs and three RBI, while catcher Wyatt Toregas came through with a key two-run double in the bottom of the seventh as the Indianapolis Indians took down the Louisville Bats 8-7 in front of a crowd of 13,555 on Saturday night ...
