Topeka Developer's Lawsuit Against the City Could Face Delays

Wow!! Look at all the liens filed against Gene Jani, presumably by contractors who haven't been paid for projects not related to this one. It appears as though with this suit he is trying to get the taxpayers of Topeka to pick up the tab for old business deals.

Geeze, Topeka Native, if you're a Topekan living in Baldwin City you should have known that Gene Jani leases the Topeka campus facility to Baker University.

Don't get me wrong, we're glad Jani is in Topeka and not here. I'm not sure the Board of Trustees knows what kind of landlord they are dealing with, however.

Thanks for the info. I haven't lived in Topeka for quite some time. Since I no longer take the Capitol, I just check the Topeka Topix site from time to time to catch up on the local news.
