Swindler skips out on sentencing; arrest order issued
A Whitehall Township man scheduled to be sentenced Monday on charges he swindled a Penn Forest Township man out of more than $122,000 failed to show up in Carbon County Court, prompting a judge to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.
Edwin D. Kistler's victim waited, as did Assistant District Attorney James M. Lavelle, President Judge Roger N. Nanovic and even defense lawyer Michael E. Brunnabend, who said his client knew of the hearing and that he had left Kistler a telephone message.
Kistler, 60, of 1301 Mickley Road, on April 14 pleaded guilty to a felony theft-by-deception charge as jurors were being selected to hear his case. He admitted he promised George Abrachinsky, the father of his former girlfriend, big returns on his investment, but took the money instead.

I thought the sentencing rules were a lot stiffer for defrauding seniors over 60 yrs. old! Twelve to eighteen months is much too lenient for this culprit who thinks he is above the legal system, which by the way is there to protect the innocent. It's a sad day when a habitually unemployed schemer can make fools of a reputable judge, District Attorney, probation officer, and police. Is he really all that smart, or does he possibly have a former? accomplice just as he has a former girlfriend?

4sure of Whitehall assumes that everyone has the time to watch movies. F.Y.I. not everyone who gets ripped off is greedy. Thousands of innocent, hard-working individuals are being ripped off daily by unscrupulous people who have nothing more positive to do than concoct ways in which to get their hands on other people's money.

Seriously, either you are kistler or are affiliated with this POS scumbag ! And Greed ??? Get real punk! First , you have no idea what its like to be a victim of something like this. This country is filled with entirely too many scumbags that are either sue happy or they steal like kistler did because they are to incompetent to hold a job of their own. And for the daughter, well, guess what ?? Harboring a criminal is a criminal offense, and their are only 3 places where "ol freddie flinstone" could be. Believe me, Kistler is not a smart man. He and Pamela are rather 2 of the dumbest people I have ever known. Oh, by the way, "eddie" if you are reading this, and this goes for Pammie too...Game Over. That is all.

They should not have left him go free while he was waiting for sentencing. The Abrachinsky's are not the first people this man has swindled. He has money stashed and should have been considered a flight risk. Shame on Pam for bringing this man into her family's lives and for putting him before her parents.
Pam is also not his only kept woman.

This did not happen overnight. This guy knew what was going to happen and he is long gone. He is probably in some other state doing the same thing.
These guys never get caught. I know some guys in the justice department. They tell me they just keep moving.
