Emerald ash borer hits Oak Forest
I'm sure now that it has hit the News Media, you could call Public Works and ask them where they were found and ask them to take a look at your trees. Especially if it's on the easment in front of your house. I'm sure they would be more than willing to help. They wouldn't want it becoming an epidemic. (4 hrs ago | post #4)
Yeah, I like to tease:):) No, actually my Wife just did normal seasoning and put a little bit of butter on to let the seasonings stick. It must have been good because out of a 25 pounder, there was only enough for a couple of sandwiches left. (Yesterday | post #20)
I was only teasing about the FD you know:) I've never tried one myself.I hear that they can be very good. I guess my thing is the intial start up costs of the Fryer, Peanut Oil, Gas etc. I've been having mine on the Grill for about 20 years. All I do is double up 2 foil pans, put water in the pan and pack the coals around the pans and cover it with foil. Once in a while throw a few chips on for a "tinge" of flavor but not too many. About a half hour before I take it off, uncover to let the skin get the Golden color. I've never had a dry one yet. In fact, Thursday, as I was carving, the juices were just flowing like you see in a commercial. My shoulder still hurts from patting myself on the back:):):) Hope you had an enjoyable one. From my understanding, the Hamm's Beer distributor used to be on Waverly Ave. North of 147th street. My Sister in Law was telling me that a few years ago. She was born and raised on Waverly. Whatever happened to the Family, I have no answer for. (Sunday Nov 22 | post #2)
The O F Ace Hardware is closing up
They aren't closing because of not being able to compete with the "big box". I was told by an Ace manager that the reaso for them closing was they owe too much money to Ace Corp. itself. They are closing this one in O.F and one in Chicago Heights. The one in Homewood is staying open. Then they find out I was told that the Propery tax went down by $40,000.00 because of reassessment. If they would have known that a month earlier, they could have stayed open. I've yet to go for any sales because I figured they really wouldn't knock that much off anything. (Sunday Nov 22 | post #5)
That's an excellent idea. Problem is though, their own countries don't want them back. As far as Prisons go? I can't even get started on that one.You know how it is, the "poor" oppressed peoples who have to eat warm bologna sandwiches. (Sunday Nov 22 | post #21)

Very Sad indeed. Now, hopefully they can charge the "perp" they did pick up with Murder. Unless a "Bleeding heart judge" says it's not proven. May he Rest In Peace. (Thursday Nov 19 | post #30)
