Who said you have been punished being born. You have been blessed by your existance. However, you are a descendant of Adam which makes you a sinner like us all. God is holy and rightous. The punishment for sin is death. There is a way to overcome this and that is by accepting the Lord Jesus into your life who is your best spiritual friend. Your assuming God is not involved in the forgiving process. God does exist and forgive who he wishes when and where. As for Christians being immoral when that doesnt make sense as most Christians fear God and respect his commands. Also Christians make terrible sinners as God punishes those whom he loves. We are descendents of Adam and sin is passed down from generation to generation. Adam is our original earthly father from which the sin has been passed down. Jesus is the second adam and is our spiritual heavenly father from which forgiveness of sin and salvation of our souls comes from. Bob, most of your posts is based on worldly/human knowledge. If you havent realised yet Gods wisdom is completely different to ours. God is different to us. For starters Gods invisible and no one has seen God. I hope we agree on that. Therefore to find God we have to seek him on a spiritual dimension. God is also outside of time and matter he/she had to be to create it. Some are imaginary, however common sense tells us one has to be right. Evolution is also imaginary. Come on how can you believe a couple of cells got together formed arms,legs,toes,fingers,digestive systems,sexual reproduction,brain functions,breathing functions, etc,etc.....over millions of years by a process called evolution. Thats not science its a belief. There are way too many holes in this theory. Besides what created life in the first place. Everyone knows only life can create life. Also a cell is very complex and holds a huge amount of information. Where did this information come from? Evilution is imaginary as well. I will conclude that there is only one truth. No one knows the mind the God and who can fathom Gods wisdom? At the end of the day you have free will right this very moment to make a right choice or a wrong choice. Every second counts. You cant blame God for the choices you make in life that is a complete cop out. Also, in terms of eternity and God is eternal. This life and the life of the planet is just a vapour in comparison. God payed the price himself by sending his son to die on a cross for our sins in a moment of time. Now if we didnt have free will we would not be able to choose between sin and obediance to God at any given time. God wants to be loved by his creation freely not by dictatorship. I dont claim to know anymore than anyone. My knowledge comes from the Bible. Truth is complicated no doubt about that and there will always be different interpretations. For starters If there is a God who created us he therefore knows how we work. Most of us have a fair sence of justice. Therefore, how much greater is Gods sence of justice than ours? How can you judge the creator who gave you that sence of justice? We are created in the image of God. Also since the fall of man we as humans have suffered the conscequence. We are all descendents of that sin. Remember the story of Noah. Well God once wanted to destroy the whole of mankind but due the rightousness of one man God decided to spare us. Also, if God did decide to destroy mankind at that stage Christ would not have been born who payed the penalty for sin for people prior to Noah. Furthermore, Hell is not torture. It will be separation from God who is the source of every good thing you have ever had. God will not torture you as God is love. God will simply let you have your way. As for choice well right now at this very moment you have a choice to get off your chair and grab a cuppa coffee. You also have a choice to believe that God exists and accept Jesus. Of course you have a choice dont blame God. A persons soul is of intrinsic value to God. God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked. In response to your previous post saying that you have been a church goer for 40 years and have lost faith. Well i find this extremely sad. For one church wont save you only God can. A church is made of bricks and morter. Also no church is perfect as its made up of people. I have backslid from church as well as alot of Christians do. Look Bob life is short and in terms of eternity your life and this planets life is just a vapour. Those who believe and accept the Lord Jesus as there saviour will be saved. This is promised in the scriptures thousands of years old and has passed the test of time. If you have the son of God you have eternal life. If you do not have the son of God you do not have eternal life. Many testify of being born again christians and you can argue till your blue in the face it makes no difference its your testimony against theirs. Your position is a foolish one in terms of eternity. Its also foolish in terms of science and intelligence. It is clear and concise and plane to see that only life can create life. You cant prove otherwise. Who created that life to begin with. God of course!!!!!!! I have said this before if i left 10 cookies lined up in a row on a table and walked out of the room and you were to come in and see the cookies lined up you would say who put the cookies there. What ever is ugly is because of the fall and you know the story. Adam and Eve were told not to eat from the tree of good and evil and they disobeyed God and they did. Since then creation has fallen from God. Thats why there are beautiful things and ugly things in this world. This is just basic theology which even a child can understand. The good news is that men and women can be restored into fellowship with God through Christ Jesus who payed the penalty for our every sin which is passed down from generation to generation. One of the greatest gifts God has given us is free will. Unfornuately, it can go against us if we make the wrong choice. But if we make the right one well we can expect blessings in this life and the next. Since the fall of man we have been separated from GOD. Sin is passed down from generation to generation. It is only by grace that someone is brought into a relationship with Christ Jesus. The Bible says that God is fair very fair. Gods judgements are fairer than what our minds can imagine. There are levels of punishment for the degree of sin and there are levels of reward for the degree of faith and good works. Every second of your life matters. I am no theologen but i know if there is a God he is fair. But he is also holy and will not accept sin in his kingdom and why should he. You have no understanding of the theology of the Bible. As i said in the previous post light was revealed into the world like opening a door and allowing light into a room. The old testament which i guess you are referring to is how God prepared a way for Christ. God had to keep his people holy. Cruel yes but necessary for the salvation of mankind. The old testament shows that to hate God is thwart with peril. The good news is that Christ Jesus died for the sins of the world and is the propriation of my sins and your sins. Creation, human beings, balanced ecosystems, the Bible including fulfilled phophecies, answered prayer (now if God was to say yes to every prayer this world would be in a hell of a state), personal testimony, divine healing and many more reasons suggest that God is a God of logic and reasoning. God makes it clear in the Bible that if you seek him you will find him. Problem is not many do. Gods intelligence is greater than the combined intelligence of every person on this planet plus more. God has provided enough evidence for you to be curious about his/her existance but has not made it so obvious so as to not allow people a choice. God wants to be loved by his creation without forcing it upon them. God is warm and is very misunderstood. God has great things install for those who love him. We have all however turned our back on God and it is only by Christ Jesus and grace that anyone is lead to the truth. We are all reliant on the mercy of God. God does not speak to us via a loud voice from heaven he speaks to us through our conscious. God is personal with his creation. Also God speaks through the Bible. The word was in the beginning. God reveals his truth in the Bible a bit like opening a door and allowing light into a room. Also, whatever is knoble and positive is from God. The reason why i say God loves you is because its in the Bible and I know through my experience that God is extremely patient and forgiving. Every heartbeat is a blessing and God is good to those who hate him. There is no greater love than for someone to lay down there life for another and that is what Jesus did for you. If you start to believe in Gods word and Christ you will see how awesome God is and how good he is. God will move mountains for you if you just start to believe.
