How is taking choice away from everyone "helping the common working man"? How is punishing someone for choosing not to take the government mandated plan "helping the common working man"? The main reason some banks are paying back is that they now realize that it wasn't so much a "hand out" as it was a "take over". Bush foolishly agreed with the Democrats in Congress on the bail out and made a stupid choice (not his first). Obama never "passed" anything. Neither did Bush. Congress is the only body that can approve expenditures. The executive branch can only suggest. Congress spends the money. The plan that should be in place is to hold people accountable for their actions from the lowest to the highest. If someone steals money from me (whether they do it on the street with a gun or whether they do via the financial markets) then they should be held accountable, not paid off. Oh my bad. These punks are misunderstood and just need a hug, right? They are involved in crimes ranging from burglary, armed robbery, and drug dealing all the way up to murder. They vandalize property that does not belong to them and intimidate their own neighborhoods and anyone in them. Don't try to play them off as a misunderstood social club. No one will buy that crap.
