Hudson schools closed due to busing problems
I believe the school you are referring to was Revere district and they rank right up the snob scale with Hudson so 'nough said. (Sep 3, 2008 | post #29)
Hudson schools closed due to busing problems
Ok, so there are school districts that can't afford to bus their students so they have to walk or their parents take them. Does school get canceled for that? NO! But spoiled rich kids in Hudson waste a "calmity " day because the transportation department doesn't have bus routes worked out insted of the kids walking or their parents dropping them off? Talk about elitists. I don't live in the Hudson district but I am a working parent can understand how inconvenient it can be to transport kids to and from school at times but I have utilized carpools, friends, relatives, etc. Are the people in Hudson too good to do the same? Now I am in no way supporting the actions of the transportation department and not having this figured out but they had plenty of time to make dry runs, maps, schedules, etc. There is no excuse for this two weeks into the school year. McCain surprises, picks Alaska governor as running mate
Just a preview of what's to come if he's elected President - doing the opposite of what he says he will do which could mean 4 more years of c r a p! (Aug 29, 2008 | post #120)
Senior complex in Copley is facing court sale
For the amount of money the residents pay to even step foot in the door, let alone their monthly "rent", sounds to me like someone doesn't know how to manage money very well. That's too bad. Another example of taking advantage of the elderly population. (Aug 27, 2008 | post #4)
Ice cream trucks melt off Copley Township streets
I saw two ice cream trucks in the township this weekend - first and only two I've seen all summer! They must want to get their sales in before their permit expires! On a side note, YES they are allowed in the township until the end of the season. I heard that because of this article, someone called the cops to report an ice cream truck in their neighborhood and that they "weren't allowed". Read and get your facts straight BEFORE you call the cops. (Aug 25, 2008 | post #62)
Church drops cell-phone tower plan
St. Hilary's doesn't have bingo funds because this parish has never believed in it nor needed it. Not ALL Catholic churches have bingo and bingo is not soley a Catholic church activity. So why doesn't Faith Lutheran look at starting a Bingo night to raise funds? (Aug 21, 2008 | post #16)
Google rank rankles, but time heals
It's just his self-centered, egotistical, fat head personality. Sure we've all googled ourselves but we don't go bragging about it. Grow up Bob and get a real job. Seems your writing abilites are gone as well as the interest in your column. Even Ray Barone writes more interesting articles and he's a fictional character. (Aug 21, 2008 | post #13)
Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones admitted to hospital
Everyone that has posted negative comments about Ms. Tubbs-Jones should be ashamed of themselves. No matter what her political affiliation or her record she is still a person with a family going through a terrible ordeal right now. My prayers go out to her family and pray for her recovery. Copley freezes ice cream trucks
First of all: Mrs. Panovich is a Trustee, not the Township Administrator. That position is held by someone who doesn't even live in Copley - go figure! Second: usurping is a strong word meaning 1)To seize and hold (the power or rights of another, for example) by force or without legal authority. See Synonyms at appropriate. 2)To take over or occupy without right: usurp a neighbor's land. 3)To take the place of (another) without legal authority; supplant. Do you have any proof that she has "seized" this land from it's rightful owner or that she has taken it by force; that she is uing it without permission of the landowner? Please provide if you can. Ice cream trucks melt off Copley Township streets
The township does require permits. The problem is that many of these transient vendors don't bother applying for one and therefore ruin it for everyone that falls into the category of transient vendors, including the ice cream trucks. (Aug 18, 2008 | post #37)
Ice cream trucks melt off Copley Township streets
The reason the streets are devoid of children is that they are too busy watching, TV, playing video games, on the computer, etc. It's definitely NOT because the ice cream truck doesn't come through the neighborhood. (Aug 18, 2008 | post #34)

Obviously you are new to the forums. Dayton is where her IP provider runs through, not necessarily where she lives. (Aug 18, 2008 | post #33)
Ice cream trucks melt off Copley Township streets
I don't know what to think on the subject. Living on a major road within the township, my kids don't get to experience the Ice Cream man because they don't stop on the main roads due to safety issues. As for Aunt Jackie & Friends comment about any indcidents with the ice cream men, there was a story going around the township a few years ago about an ice cream man trying to lure a child INTO his truck. A law was passed many years ago that ANYONE working with children had to undergo fingerprinting and background checks. To me it would make sense to have ice cream truck drivers undergo the same or are they exempt from this? And if they are are, WHY? I would think being more mobile with a better opportunity to grab a child would be grounds for enforcement on that issue. As for whether or not they should be banned from the township, i'm torn. I don't wish to deprive any child from a decades old tradition but I must agree with the safety concerns. I also think that adults should now what their children are up to ouside and keep an eye on them, or accompany them as they buy things from the ice cream truck. (Aug 18, 2008 | post #21)
Job cuts coming at Advanced Elastomer Systems in Akron
What bothers me is why EXXON/Mobile is cutting any workforce connected to their company when they just reported $11 billion dollars in profit - thanks to the rising gas prices of course. But don't get me started on that subject ;-) (Aug 13, 2008 | post #7)
