I'm a disabled Marine Vet considering moving from the High Desert of SoCal to Kentucky. I'm not into the big City living, but prefer rural country life. I enjoy fishing, music, and camping. I am a musician with some 40 yrs experience, and would enjoy someplace where I could meet other local musicians. Any recommendations? (Oct 13, 2009 | post #1827)
Supreme Court to hear Mojave Desert Memorial Cross case
In America, the "faith of our Fathers" was indisputably the Christian faith. It is a damning indictment against our educational system to have so many deny this fact, and suggest that Muslims had anything to do with the rise of this great Nation. In both world wars, Islam aligned itself with Germany and/or the cause of Fascism, NOT liberty. Should there be a Muslim who in fact has fought on the side of good & light in the world; they are the "exception to the rule", for Islam is antithetical to freedom & democracy. The fact that the Christian cross offends them is easy enough to understand: Christ died to set man free, while they kill & terrorize to enslave them. In any case, it is not for this generation to deny the respect earned in blood by that generation. They chose a cross to identify their sacrifice with: Respect it, whether you agree with it or not, or you have no right to call yourself an "American ". (Oct 13, 2009 | post #29)

How is it that we've come to the place where the voicing of legitimate dissent, may be classified as mere "bickering "? Should citizens just silently stand by and watch as their Country is systematically stripped & censored from it's historic expressions of faith & honor? Just what kind of world would you have us live in? (Jun 29, 2009 | post #3)

Cheney Comes Out for Gay Marriage, State-by-State
If my daughter went Lesbian, it would not change my opinion concerning this abominable behavior, but only fuel my activism against it all the more. As for Mr. Cheney: No-one should be surprised at is admission; he has never been truly conservative on such traditional family values. The GOP would make yet another massive mistake, as they did with McCain, to promote him as their candidate for President. (Jun 4, 2009 | post #162)
Reaction to President Obama's speech to the Muslim world
Barack Obama's mention of "seven million American Muslims" in the course of his rambling and complex six-thousand-word address to the Muslim world from Cairo symbolizes the whole message. Study after study has found that demographic figure about three times too high. But Islamist organizations like the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Islamic Society of North America relentlessly promote the notion of seven or even ten million American Muslims. Obama's accepting their version amounts to a giveaway, a cheap way to win the approbation of Islamists who so widely influence Muslim opinion. "Giveaway, " indeed, defines the whole speech – inexpensive nods, tips of the hat, and salutations to win Muslim favor without initiating new approaches or embarking on new policies. The speech confirms Obama's personal efforts (note how, in keeping with his past practice, he uses the word "respect " ten times in this speech) as well as the established practice of American political leaders to promote Islam, tell Muslims what their religion really means, avoid references to radical Islam, and excoriate violent Islamism while accepting the non-violent variety. No, I meant "foreordained ", and as a retired Pastor, with a degree in theology; I think I should know what it means better than you. And issues of theology, religion, morality, and the like ALL have a very legitimate place in this discussion; so keep your censorship fangs in check. I was asked a regarding my views by "wilderide "; and answered accordingly... whether you like its content or not. (Jun 2, 2009 | post #2599)

Have I ever considered the fact that my salvation was FOREORDAINED? Certainly! Now who could have ever guessed you were an atheist! Lol… That’s a religious system which requires more faith than mine! Your pretended “respect” for others of differing faiths doesn’t jive with what we’ve seen you post… “sky pixie”? You’ll soon find out better. You are the only one in here who has suggested a Christian “theocracy”. I’ve never suggested it. I have only maintained that the United States was founded by mostly Christian men, using Biblical principles (also agreeable with other religions), because of which it was often referred to as a “Christian Nation”… but never a “theocracy”. There are many quotes from the Founding Fathers to substantiate this, such as … “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.” [John Adams – 1813] I think it no “coincidence” that Adams made this statement at the very same time George Washington made his oft misunderstood remarks in the Tripoli Treaty negotiations. Fact is, you share the selfsame problem those Muslims had; i.e., the inability to accept the phrase “Christian Nation” in anything but the most negative, and untrue definitions. In conclusion: The only “theocracy” I recognize is that which entails God’s sovereignty over the entire universe, to include the earth. That view is shared by people of many different religious persuasions. (Jun 1, 2009 | post #2451)

Stop being ridiculous. Certain forms of speech have never been Constitutionally protected; and time & place has ever been a deciding factor. For example: While we might tolerate the KKK gathering in a Public gathering place, so designated for such speeches; we would never think of allowing them the "bully-Pulpit " of the Classroom. The same applies to homosexuals, pedophiles, and "animal lovers" who practice & advocate bestiality. Like the ideology of the KKK, they are DEVIANT behaviors, and unacceptable subjects to be placed before our children. Yes, I am very much in favor of "censoring " such subject matter from our Public Classrooms. And I am obviously NOT alone in that sentiment. (May 31, 2009 | post #2316)

Buddhism teaches and expects from its followers a certain level of ethical behavior. The minimum that is required of the lay Buddhist is embodied in what is called the Five Precepts (panca sila), the third of which relates to sexual behavior. A type of person called a "pandaka " is occasionally mentioned in the Vinaya in contexts that make it clear that such a person is some kind of sexual non-conformist. The Vinaya also stipulates that pandakas are not allowed to be ordained, and if, inadvertently, one has been, he is expelled. Even the lay Buddhist are required to observe the 3rd Precept, which states… “Kamesu micchacara veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami.” Translation, "I take the rule of discipline not to go astray in the pursuit of sexual pleasure.” This was always taken to include homosexuality, as well as like deviant “sexual pleasures” such as pedophilia, and bestiality. Rose, Rose, Rose… is the best and only premise you have for objecting, “wishful thinking”? Sodom & Gomorrah certainly did exist, it’s not only mentioned in the Bible, but many surrounding cultures of the time also corroborate its existence in their own writings. As for recent archaeological evidences; perhaps THIS will interest you… http://www.answers ingenesis.org/arti cles/2008/04/05/ne ws-to-note-0405200 8 In any case, one could hardly expect an easy time finding such an ancient set of cities God had destroyed. By the fact that even secular scientists are still searching for them is mute testimony to the fact that THEY believe they are there to be eventually discovered. It wasn’t the “thinness” of the Roman Armies, but the DILUTION of their MORAL purity which brought Rome down. The fact that many Roman men refused to any longer serve in the ranks of a military would supported & defended such a debauched State, no doubt didn’t help either. Such may well become the situation in our own Armed Forces. Billions of people over the age of 6 have, and DO believe what your contemptuously call “crap”. Deal with it. WHERE is there homosexuality in nature: Among dumb beasts? Animals, that are NOT created in the image & likeness of God? Are THEY now your role models? It’s funny that you should admit as much, since the very Bible you love to hate so much says THIS, about people like YOU… “But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption…” (2Pe 2:12) “…these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.” (Jud 1:10) Thank you for proving my point! As for our children: They are OURS, not Society’s, not the Court’s, or the School’s, et al; they are OURS. And if you know what’s good for you, you will leave them alone. (May 31, 2009 | post #784)

Calif. Supreme Court Upholds Proposition 8
Here it is again, in “short-hand”, for those of you who stubbornly refuse to get it! 1) No human Government can truly grant “rights” to anyone. Rights, are God-ordained, and universally consistent with the laws of nature and common morality. Any attempt to legislate permission for that which does not fit the above definition is in reality “licentiousness”, and not truly “legal” in any moral/ethical sense. 2) No Nation has ever granted license to such deviant behaviors as homosexuality, but that it proved to be one of the last defiant acts of stupidity by a culture who was about to fall; i.e., Sodom & Gomorrah, the Greeks, the Romans, and now… greater Europe. 3) Appeals to sacred texts such as the Bible (Tanach) on the part of some to substantiate the arguments against the acceptance of homosexuality are perfectly legitimate since they not only cite the historic disposition of DIVINE authority in the matter; but it also provides us with a reliable witness into the historic disposition of nations & peoples on the matter. Facing such a preponderance of evidence contrary to their cause, we can well understand the homosexual’s hate for the Bible, and all who use it against them. 4) Those homosexuals who demand society recognize their “right” to marry, are asking society to do a thing no human agency can do; that is… to legitimize a thing which all natural and divine laws enjoin against. No truly “civilized” people will ever be made to accept such a thing as either “right” or legitimate, when it is so obviously WRONG. And so, in whatever place they may coerce a corrupt judge, politician, or religious figure into approving their behavior; it will still be utterly illegal, immoral, and unacceptable to the vast majority of decent people. As such, the homosexual will still NOT have achieved what they so desperately want: ACCEPTANCE. But they will in fact be only exacerbating the already volatile tide of public sentiment against them. 5) Homosexuals need to appreciate the fact that while they may not enjoy the libertine societal status granted them in Countries such as France, the Netherlands, and Holland… which nations I hasten to add are facing certain near-future, inner collapse: They do not at least live in an Islamic society (for the present), which would in fact invade their bedrooms and every other hole they would seek to hide in, and kill them outright! And as a genuine show of that appreciation, they need to stop trying to ram acceptance of their behavior down our throats! Stop trying to brainwash our children via music, movies, TV shows, books and the School rooms everywhere; and RESPECT the wishes of your fellow citizens NOT to share your views! This I think would cool emotions considerably, and do your cause far more service than the current show of contempt against normality, and the common public good. (May 31, 2009 | post #2274)
