PETA asks military to end testing on animals

So ever been to an ER? Ever been treated in an ambulance? Ever had children, and received medication? Ever been to the dentist and had a shot of novacane? What do you take when you have a headache? Ever put any type of ointment on a cut to help it heal faster? If you were in an accident would you refuse treatment if you were going to die, if they were going to use medicine on you that was tested on anmimals? Would you die for your cause? I doubt you would, and I'm sure that you have done at least one of the above mentioned things...so let's be honest now...it's ok, you can say that your a "hyprocrite "! Of course, vegetarians don't kill animals. Or do they? Most vegetable production is done at the expense of wild creatures, either by converting wildlife habitat to cropland or requiring the application of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Soybeans and corn, for example, are often grown on wetlands that have been drained and plowed. Without a place to nest, a hen mallard doesn't die, but she doesn't raise any young, either. So I guess that makes you MURDERER as well now doesn't it? TRUE STORY!! Whack em' and Stack em' in 9 DAYS AND A WAKE UP, Ain't that a pisser you CAN'T STOP ME or IT from happening!!  (Friday Sep 5 | post #1940)

PETA asks military to end testing on animals

WHY ANIMALS HAVE NO RIGHTS "A right, properly understood, is a claim, or potential claim, that one party may exercise against another. The target against whom such a claim may be registered can be a single person, a group, a community, or (perhaps) all humankind. The content of rights claims also varies greatly: repayment of loans, nondiscrimination by employers, noninterference by the state, and so on. To comprehend any genuine right fully, therefore, we must know who holds the right, against whom it is held, and to what it is a right. The differing targets, contents, and sources of rights, and their inevitable conflict, together weave a tangled web. Notwithstanding all such complications, this much is clear about rights in general: they are in every case claims, or potential claims, within a community of moral agents. Rights arise, and can be intelligibly defended, only among beings who actually do, or can, make moral claims against one another. Whatever else rights may be, therefore, they are necessarily human; their possessors are persons, human beings. Animals (that is, nonhuman animals, the ordinary sense of that word) lack this capacity for free moral judgment. They are not beings of a kind capable of exercising or responding to moral claims. Animals therefore have no rights, and they can have none. This is the core of the argument about the alleged rights of animals. The holders of rights must have the capacity to comprehend rules of duty, governing all including themselves. In applying such rules, the holders of rights must recognize possible conflicts between what is in their own interest and what is just. Only in a community of beings capable of self-restricting moral judgments can the concept of a right be correctly invoked. Humans have such moral capabilities. They are in this sense self-legislative, are members of communities governed by moral rules, and do possess rights. Animals do not have such moral capacities. They are not morally self-legislative, cannot possibly be members of a truly moral community, and therefore cannot possess rights. In conducting research on animal subjects, therefore, we do not violate their rights, because they have none to violate. Genuinely moral acts have an internal as well as an external dimension. Thus, in law, an act can be criminal only when the guilty deed, the actus reus, is done with a guilty mind, mens rea. No animal can ever commit a crime; bringing animals to criminal trial is the mark of primitive ignorance. The claims of moral right are similarly inapplicable to them. Does a lion have a right to eat a baby zebra? Does a baby zebra have a right not to be eaten? Such questions, mistakenly invoking the concept of right where it does not belong, do not make good sense. Those who condemn biomedical research because it violates "animal rights" commit the same blunder. This brings us to IC (Birth Control for animals)..How is it that you can consider forcibly subjecting non-consenting animals to an unnecessary surgical procedure that violates their "right" to reproduction. If animals have "rights, " how important can their (rights) be if ARA's can capriciously deprive them (animals) of the one that counts the most (life) and the one that comes in second (the right to reproduce, and the associated pleasures of sexual activity and rearing offspring)? You see it's not really about the animals with the Animal Rights groups, they could care less about the animals, it's about inflicting their will upon humans and animals alike. TRUE STORY! PETA asks military to end testing on animals

Ha ha ha, well don't you have your knickers in a knot...is it because all the youtube sites that were hosting your vile pathetic video lies are being shut down?? As for the coward comment, I still have a standing offer open to you to visit me at a public location to have a conversation while I'm in Virgina Beach, but I know you won't show up, because IN REALITY YOU'RE THE COWARD! I'm not AFRAID or ASHAMED to wear my CAMO hat in public, why don't you wear your HOOD that you wear when you SAB INNOCENT peoples property, or terrorizing some animal clinic. So what were the suggestions you offered up to to offset the use of testing on animals? Were you going to volunteer your own body/service to be injected with diseases and viruses for medical testing, were you going to enlist the other members of peta, and hsus to also step forward?? That would be the one good thing that you ARA's could do that might actually help animals/wildlife.. .because EVERYONE knows that what you CLAIM to do now doesn't amount to SQUAT! Don't believe me? Look at the other peta threads on this website, and the comments from all the posters on here....your sad pathetic loser cause comprises less than 1% of the population, and the general public is fed up with your lies, and it's proven by the comments from the general public about peta thread on here. Defenders of animals deserve public support

Oh this is the same HSUS: HSUS - The undercover slaughterhouse video released on January 30 by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS): If HSUS knew in October 2007 that potentially unsafe meat was entering the U.S. food chain (including the federal school lunch program), why did the animal rights group sit on its footage for more than three months? Because of HSUS’s preference for sensationalism over protecting the public’s health, millions of Americans (including countless children) may have been exposed to meat that wasn’t fit for human consumption. HSUS clearly shares responsibility for this whole sorry episode. Yeah, they're the best! Here's a suggestion pull your head out of your A$$, they are nothing more than a domestic TERRORIST GROUP that is only out for themselves, they could give a fat rats a$$ about animals/wildlife. Whale of an offer: Buy SeaWorld, free animals

Stop funding these domestic TERRORIST!! PETA claims to be dedicated to saving animals. Did you know that, according to PETA's own records PETA spends less than 1% of its $13 million budget on actual care, housing, feeding, and home-finding for animals? In fact, PETA literally puts animals to death via lethal injection, which they claim is 'more humane', and then leaves the dead animals in garbage dumpsters! PETA directly provides funds and support to two groups, ALF and ELF. The FBI estimates that the ALF/ELF have committed more than 600 criminal acts in the United States since 1996, resulting in damages in excess of 43 million dollars." Wild Table Fare: Compound the Health Benefits of Hunting, Fishing In addition to the health benefits of the activities themselves, hunting and fishing provide a way to eat healthy as well. Wild-game meats and fish are low in fat, low in cholesterol, high in protein, and the original organic alternative. The American Heart Association recommends eating venison, rabbit, pheasant and duck (without skin) as low-fat alternatives to store-bought meats. It also recommends eating grilled fish once or twice a week for its heart-healthy benefits. NEXT!! TRUE STORY! PUT EM' DOWN in 22 days and a wake up!  (Friday Aug 22 | post #1352)

More lies, and propoganda from the ARA Clones...check these links for some interesting health, and diet information: http://www.stepout side.org/HealthOfI t/index.cfm According to http://www.calorie -count.com/, you'll burn 408 calories per hour during a typical deer hunt. That's over 100 calories more per hour than in golf or dancing. http://www.whfoods .com/genpage.php?t name=foodspice &dbid=139 Health Benefits Venison may not be in your dinner plans very often, but it can actually be a great addition to a healthy diet plan. High in Protein and Iron, Yet Low in Saturated Fat Venison is a very good source of protein, while, unlike most meats, it tends to be fairly low in fat, especially saturated fat. Four ounces of venison supplies 68.5% of the daily value for protein for only 179 calories and 1.4 grams of saturated fat. Venison is a good source of iron, providing 28.2% of the daily value for iron in that same four-ounce serving. Particularly for menstruating women, who are more at risk for iron deficiency, boosting iron stores is a good idea--especially because, in comparison to beef, a well known source of iron, venison provides well-absorbed iron for less calories and fat. Iron is an integral component of hemoglobin, which transports oxygen from the lungs to all body cells, and is also part of key enzyme systems for energy production and metabolism. And, if you're pregnant or lactating, your needs for iron increase. Growing children and adolescents also have increased needs for iron. B Vitamins for Better Energy and Cardiovascular Health So the next time you are planning on meat for dinner, try the iron-rich, vitamin-packed alternative to beef. Venison can add variety to your diet as well as good health to your life. TRUE STORY! PUT EM' DOWN in 22 days and a wake up!  (Friday Aug 22 | post #1351)

So you wouldn't consider these big advances in medicine: penicillin, insulin, the polio vaccine, chemotherapy for childhood leukemia, hip replacement and heart bypass surgeries.(All breakthroughs from animal testing). The past 20 years have brought remarkable progress in the development of therapies and vaccines for treating viruses. Now there are 14 licensed anti-viral drugs for treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection alone. One needs only to look at a picture of Magic Johnson -- who has tested positive for the AIDS virus -- during a visit to a central Seattle Starbucks to appreciate what these drugs have done to help people. In the United States, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or AIDS, which is the disease caused by HIV infection, has gone from a rapidly fatal disease to one that can be slowed significantly by drug therapy. Likewise, anti-viral drugs for herpes virus infections have reduced suffering from lesions causes by herpes simplex, and they have markedly reduced death from viral pneumonia in transplant patients and viral-related transplant rejection. Similarly, we now have a vaccine against cancer. Hepatitis B vaccine prevents hepatitis B and liver cancer, its major complication. How has this progress been possible? Say it with me Animal Testing! So I ask you, are you willing to take the place of the animals?? Just a simple YES OR NO will suffice to see where you truely stand, no other rhectoric, just a simple YES OR NO!! TRUE STORY! PETA asks military to end testing on animals

We've been down this road before, and have already PROVED through a UN-BIASED SOURCE http://www.post-ga zette.com/pg/07182 /798452-358.stm The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released preliminary data from its 2006 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife Associated Recreation, an assessment of participation trends among Americans over age 16, compiled at five-year intervals. Hunter numbers, according to the survey, fell by 4 percent nationwide since 2001. Only 5 percent of Americans now consider themselves hunters. Another survey, though, indicates that America's remaining hunters enjoy quite a crowd of cheerleaders. Responsive Management Inc., a social research firm that specializes in natural resource matters, found earlier this year that 78 percent of Americans support hunting as an outdoor activity, up from 73 percent since 1995. Eighty percent of respondents indicated that "hunting has a legitimate place in modern society." Meanwhile, the percentage of Americans who say they disapprove of hunting declined from 22 percent in 1995 to 16 percent today. Responsive Management conducted its survey for the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses, a national organization of state legislators interested in wildlife and sportsmen's issues. "Americans seem to be acquiring a more realistic view of hunting and wildlife management, possibly due to increases in populations of deer and resident geese in urban areas," said Mark Damian Duda, Responsive Management executive director. Duda said that when his firm asked respondents specifically about hunting as a source of food or as a wildlife management tool, public support soared to more than 80 percent. Despite the nationwide decline in the total number of hunters, Duda said his research indicates that the ranks of female hunters are growing. "It looks like an increase for women," Duda said. "But it's very interesting. With women, we could not identify specific variables that influence hunting. With men you can look at factors like race or rural background and say it tends to increase the odds of an individual hunting, but with women we did not find that relationship. " Duda acknowledged the various programs, such as Becoming an Outdoors Woman, which introduce women from diverse backgrounds to shooting, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor skills, aided the growth in female participation, but stopped short of attributing it to any particular factor. As the motivations of hunters in general change and evolve, Duda suggested, it could be that hunting is becoming more attractive and more accessible for women. For example, survey data indicate that only 9 percent of hunters in 1980 said they hunted primarily to spend time with family. Responsive Management's recent survey found that 20 percent of today's hunters cite being with family as the most important reason they hunt. Among former hunters nationwide, 26 percent said they quit hunting because of a "lack of time." Twenty-two percent said they dropped out because of conflicts with work, and 18 percent cited family obligations. Only 3 percent said they quit because of a lack of game.
