32 picketers arrested in protest outside Disneyland in hotel wo...
I guess here in VA $14.32 an hour sounds OK but in CA, it probably would not buy much, especially if you did not get 40 hrs a week. This sounds a bit Walmartish to me where they try to get the most for the least - also Sam's Club. (Friday Aug 15 | post #3)
"The Price is Right" searches for model in Oyster Point
I wonder if they'd take a 66 year old? Probably not, too many wrinkles and would never fit into the former models' outfits. I do think an older model would make a cute conversation piece for this show or any show. I guess the men would never watch the show then. Oh well! Just rambling on. As far as the questions on the app goes, the same questions are asked for any job someone wants. I guess the questions about felonies were frowned upon by a commenter here but that is common knowledge to people if they know where to look. (Friday Aug 15 | post #3)
I guess he wants someone younger. She's going on 40 now and that is "old" in the entertainment world. Well, it is old anywhere. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #22)
Hayden Panettiere's father arrested
Who not release a mug shot. He's just a man, isn't he? They would release a shot if it were just one of us poor folks, right? (Thursday Aug 14 | post #1)
Woman who had affair with John Edwards has a wild past
If John Edwards had an affair with her, then his past is just as wild. He is just as much to blame as she is. (Tuesday Aug 12 | post #32)
Schools told to let Christian group in rent-free
Let's just face it, schools (government) just hates morality and Christianity. Anything pertaining to Christ offends them but anything satanic or regarding witchcraft does not offend them. I'm really offended when they charge for Christian groups or the scouts but will let any other (repulsive) organization hold meetings there free. That's America at it's best. County seeks to shut down home 'motels'
What a crock. I know that where I live, there are these "spys", snoops, or maggots, whichever name suits, who are on the lookout for anything they deem improper and will call the homeowners assoc. or a towing truck to tow away a car or say your grass is too tall or your bushes aren't trimmed perfectly. They are discontented human beings who like trouble. When you own a home, you should be able to rent it out. This man has done nothing wrong. He needs help paying the high mortgage while he's not living in the house and will be living there when he retires in 2 years. I DO wish gossipers and old bags, hags (men or women) would mind their own business. They have WAY too much time on their hands. (Monday Aug 11 | post #2)
Price of gas is getting travelers riding the rails
Boy, I hope they do not move downtown. It will be so inconvenient to the folks from PHA and up into Wmsbg. I wonder if they will totally close their boarding at Lee Hall. I'm glad that Amtrak is doing well though. (Monday Aug 11 | post #1)

Man shot in the neck outside convenience store
It is a pity it could not have been reversed and the employee shot "and killed" the burglar. (Wednesday Aug 6 | post #22)
Hampton Roads employment increases by about 10,400 jobs
Why am I not surprised! Most jobs are working for government which are paid by taxpayer funds. It may be educational or health but it is still government. Where oh where did the manufacturing jobs go and now we are stuck with flipper jobs or gov. jobs. Help, I'm sinking fast. (Tuesday Aug 5 | post #10)

To: It figures: How could you possibly live in Newport News with your upscale attitude. Move to Fairfax where you'll fit right in. You won't be a local yocal with a blue collar mentality there. Your bank account had better be in the millions if you try though. I really dislike people who talk negatively about working people, calling them trailer trash, or blue collar folks. Working people build a society and the blue bloods have it rain in their nostrils. (Tuesday Aug 5 | post #93)

If colleges and universities spent more time elevating knowledge to a higher level for students than trying to maintain an image of the president and the school, everyone would be better off. The same goes for government schools. If they would teach reading, writing and arithmetic and let more of the social engineering go, students would be better off. Just my humble opinion. 2007 story: Denbigh High grad, a promising singer, killed at NSU
I've read both articles on this crime and it is odd to me that if a white person had killed Mr. Williams, it would have been considered a hate crime but since it wasn't, the police are not considering it as such. Just strange to me. Frankly, I'm against the Hate Crime Law because any crime suggests hate of some kind. If you can kill someone for any reason, you need the force of the law down on you. Obama campaign says Ludacris' new rhyme 'outrageously offensive...
I wonder what kind of values Mr. Burton is talking about that we hold dear? It seems to me that there are no values worth a plug nickel in America. They have all gone down the drain. Look around. Do you see a lot of exemplary moral behavior going on? I don't. Check the news, check next door. It's just not there. We have become a big septic tank. I'll await the opposing comments.
