Health Care - Wichita, KS

I agree, the health care system is broken. Why do you only blame the Republicans? There is more than enough blame to go around. How about the lawyers who sue because a doctor does not do a certain test? How the doctor who overcharges for a test that was neeedlessly run because of the lawyers who sue him? How about government regulations that conflct with each other and no one understands? How about the father or mother who takes their child to the emergecy room for a broken finger That the doctor is only going to tape up and send them home and tell them not to hit or knock the finger while it heals. There are to many things wrong to just say that we need to turn everything over to one oversized government buarcarcy. To begin with let us make each and every one responsable for their own health care. If you have to pay for the insurannce you have then you will be more aware of the rescitons and the benifits of it because it is what you paid for, not some third party. Second lets get the lawyers out of the doctors offfice. Tort reform and limits on punitive damanges. Demand that doctors practice medinence instead of throwing one test after another at the patient. Get unneccicary government regulations out of medicane. For example I talked to a nurse at a hospital who when ever she gave a shot while obeying federal regulations on giving the shot at the same time was breaking OSHA regulations. This makes no sense. I you break a finger instead of going to the hospital and paying for emergecy services wait and go to the doctors office and pay for a office call. We waste so much money on little things that we do not have it for the big things.  (Wednesday Nov 25 | post #22)

Attorneys for Scott Roeder Want Trial Moved

As long as he keeps calling the press and inflaming the sitution with his comments I doubt that he could find anyplace that can sit a jury. Is all this a move on his part to make people think that he is crazy?  (Thursday Nov 12 | post #1)

Should the US have universal healthcare?

The health care bill passed the House today. Great next lets pass National Car Insurance Coverage so that we all will have car insurnce. I mean if we can have universal health insurnace why universal car insurnace, or universal home owners insurance. Lets have the Federal Government pay for all that and soak the rich for it. They never work for their money. They steal it from all of the hard working poor in this nation.  (Saturday Nov 7 | post #68392)

I agree, however instead of making it a government monoply lets open it up to compation. Lets get tort reform so that lawyers do not make millions off of other peoples suffueing. Have everyone shop and but their own health insurance just jike car or home owner insurance. Let companies sell across state lines. When peiple have the choice of many different companies the price comes down, not up. When there is only one provider the pirce sky rokets and no one can afford it.  (Oct 29, 2009 | post #15)

Missing teen found in Hiawatha, man arrested

The term anchor baby comes from the mother coming to America and having the baby here. Thus the child is an American citizen and the mother can stay here and collect benifets for the child. There is a movement that believes that it should go back to the way it was before 1950 when the mother had to become a natualized citizen before the child could claim citizenship. The way it is now if you are born here you are automaticaly a citizen. Hope this helpls.  (Oct 23, 2009 | post #4)

Hey I have a great idea. Lets have national car insurance coverage, then I can get free car insurance and wont have to worry about car insurnace payments. What do you think?  (Oct 6, 2009 | post #31)

How about tort reform? Stop the outlandish pay outs on law suits. Rein in the layers and get them out of the doctors office.  (Sep 27, 2009 | post #3)

Yes, we need health care reform. However it goes well beyond having universal health care. We need tort reform, instead of having redeculous amounts awarded for punitive damages there should be a limit of $2 millon. Next get governmnet and business out of paying for health care. If people bought their own insurance they would shop for the best deal. To do this we must let the insunrce companies sell insurance across state lines, make them cover pre-existing conditions. We do have the companies that we work for pay for our car insurance, or home owners insurace, why should they pay for our health insurance? When you make decions on what you pay for and how much then compition enters and prices come down. When you let others make decions for you then you MUST accept what they deceide and you loose the ability to do what is best for you.  (Sep 26, 2009 | post #19)

I agree that we need remorm, I disagree that the government is the right answer. Lets get tort reform and limit the punitive damages that one can collect. Instead of paying out $50 millions for punitive damages on class action suits wich the lawers get most of the money. Lets limit to $2 millon and have the plainiff get the money. Get government bussiness out the health care. Let insurance companies sell their products acroos state lines. Make people shop for the insurance that they need and can afford. Also make companies accept preexisting condictions. If these measures were taken rates would come down and people could afford health care. When you let someone else make decisions for you then you give the power to deceide for yourself.  (Sep 26, 2009 | post #15)

Here is a unique idea. Lets have tort reform and limit the penitive damanges to 2 million dollars. Then get government and companies out of paying insurance premiums for indivauls. Make everyone go out and buy the healh insurance that they need and can afford. Premiums would come down due to compation and people taking charge of their health care. If you let others pay for something then you give the power to tell what you can do.  (Sep 26, 2009 | post #3)

First of all I said nothing about Glenn Beck, I also think that his 912 project is well directed and I agree with him on it. Our repesentives at all levels of government are failling us messerably. However we cannot enforce change if we do not stand up and YELL OUR HEADS OFF unitl they listen. One way of doing that is voting. If you do not like who is in office VOTE THEM OUT. That is what I do. Second of if you look at any of my post I always try to be respectfull of other people and do use bad lanagauge or call them names. I DEMAND no less from those who post messages to me.  (Sep 13, 2009 | post #456)
